Bull Dog Puppies

Even if you’ve never been a fan of the bulldog, take a look at a litter of puppies and you are sure to fall in love. Bull dog puppies are plump, short haired, with pudgy little bodies and adorable innocent faces that aren’t quite as wrinkled as the adults. They are also expensive if you want a purebred because it is difficult to breed bulldogs and difficult for a bull dog mother to give birth. The vast majority of bulldogs are born via C-section. It is not uncommon for the price to be $1800 per puppy or more. If you have your heart set on a bull dog, you should know there are actually different kinds.

The most commonly recognized kind of bulldog is the English bull dog. This breed of dog is what comes to mind when most people think of a bulldog. This breed has a wide build, with thick wrinkles and folds on the brow and drooping jowls. Bull dogs have short coats and may be many different colors including red, white, fawn, piebald and brindle. Adult bull dogs grow to be approximately 45 pounds.

Although they may look grumpy, bulldogs are usually quite happy and eager to please their owners. They are perfect for indoor living as they do not need to be exercised as often as more active breeds. And, they are very family oriented, good with children and enjoy human company. Like most purebred dogs, bulldogs have genetic health problems they may suffer from, which include hip dysplasia, cardiac disease and respiratory problems.

Although the English bulldog is the most popular, other types of bull dog include the American Bulldog and the French Bulldog. American Bulldogs are larger than English bulldogs and far more active and energetic, although they look similar. French bulldogs are small dogs compared with the other two bulldog varieties and are usually black and white with large, bat-like ears. They also make wonderful pets.

Bull dog puppies love cool environments and care should be taken not to expose them to too much heat for too long of a duration. When outdoors on a hot day, make sure your bull dog has a shady spot to lie in and plenty of fresh water. Like all puppies, bull dogs need to be potty trained and taught basic obedience commands. With lots of love and care a bulldog will make a wonderful addition to your family.
